✨✨This Saturday- September 23, 2023 10:00 AM✨✨A few days away from @helpinghandssocietycochrane food drive to help support the #cochranefoodbank Volunteers will be out in the North communities Cochrane Heights, Sunterra Heights, Sunset Ridge, Monterra, Water Valley and Western Rocky View County. If you can have your donation out on your front step in a box or new reusable bag, that would much appreciated (Please check dates and donate non-expired non-perishable food please) Our numbers have increased so we really appreciate the donations from the community. Our #cochranefoodbank is in need of rice, mixed beans, canned pasta, canned fruit and oatmeal/bagged oats. If you can help and donate these items or any non perishable food item, they can be dropped off in the bins at our local grocery stores (Safeway, Save On, No Frills and Walmart) PLEASE DO NOT drop off perishables in our grocery store bins. We only pick up once a week. If you have those items, please consider dropping off at one of the Helping Hands Food Sheds in town, in their refrigerators. Also check dates on your donations. Although we do hand out some past the best before date items, we would ask that you donate items that have not yet expired. Thank You Cochrane #cochraneactivettes #cochranealberta #cochranecares

This week held our first general meeting since our This week held our first general meeting since our summer break. We presented a little plaque to the parents of the graduates who received our 2023 bursaries, as those students have already left for University. The parents did speak on behalf of the recipients; Lucy S. and Natasha Y. We want to wish them both the best of luck in their studies! We also awarded a few service awards. Karen K. accepted her 15 year award, Charlene J. her 10 year award and Sharon C. also received her 10 year award! We also stopped in at the #cochranefoodbank this week as our summer student, Raya K. heads back to high school. Thanks Raya for helping us out this summer! Town of Cochrane has asked that we share this wit Town of Cochrane has asked that we share this with our members and community! “The Town of Cochrane is launching a new process to create our Municipal Development Plan, which will be known as Envision Cochrane 2050! Envision Cochrane 2050 will result in a new long-term plan for Cochrane that will guide how our community lives, works, plays and thrives through policy direction that honours our past while shaping our town’s future. The final Municipal Development Plan is expected to be presented to Town Council in early 2025.
