A message from the Cochrane Activettes – March 17, 2020
As the world works its way through the COVID-19 pandemic, we would like to reiterate our commitment to supporting our community through these uncertain times.
While the current risk is still low, we have instituted our Emergency Response plan to ensure we are positioned to adapt to any potential increased prevalence of COVID-19.

The Cochrane Activettes are active in many aspects of the Cochrane and Area community with our two most visible projects being the Cochrane Food Bank and The Clothesline.
The Cochrane Food Bank is still open and we are preparing hampers for this week’s recipients. We will be able to continue in a more limited capacity to provide hampers to those in need. We are extending our hamper programs to include anyone vulnerable or in desperate need of food at this time and no means to get it. Our normal hampers will be pared back to ones that are designed to last from 3 – 5 days. This should extend our ability to provide food for a longer period of time. Hampers will no longer be picked up at our facility but instead will be delivered by volunteer drivers from the community starting March 20, 2020. The driver will call upon arrival and leave the hamper outside the door.
As many of you know there was a food drive scheduled for April 25 which had to be postponed so our shelves are not as full as we would like. Therefore donations would be appreciated. Monetary donations are accepted through our website – cochraneactivettes.com and at all the local banks or mailed to Cochrane Activettes, Box 535, Cochrane AB., T4C 1A7.
Due to increased risks factors we are closing the Clothesline to the public at this time. It will now be utilized as a drop off point for any donations that residents feel they are able to share with those that are less fortunate or are in isolation. Items that will be required are non-perishable food items, personal care items and cleaning products. Please leave donations outside the door between the hours of 11 am and 4 pm Monday through Saturday. The Clothesline is located at #3, 122 – 4th Avenue. Food items can still be dropped off at the three grocery stores as well.
If you are in need please call FCSS at 403 851 2250.
We are a strong community and are in a good position to weather this. Let’s do this together.
